Thala Coconut OdysseyCoconut Dundee, aka Carl Johanson, coconut advocate of Thala Beach Lodge near Port Douglas was once listed as one of Australia's most eccentric tour guides. He is passionately campaigning against major corporations to spread word of the incredible health benefits of the humble coconut.

It's therefore unsurprising to learn that unlike other tours, the 'Coconut Odyssey' at Thala is the only one of its kind in Australia. This nutty crusader attests to numerous coconut related benefits, from preventing cancer to banishing cellulite.

In fact, Carl's testament is so convincing, he will likely have you stocking up on coconuts by the end of the tour.

Ashley on JetryderWelcome to the June SLC newsletter! I'm fresh back from two recent trips – the first to India and Nepal with Creative Travel where my personal highlight had to be discovering the 'Garden of Dreams' a tranquil oasis in the middle of enchanting Kathmandu and to inspire you a little further on this grey wet afternoon we have included their latest 'tea garden' Darjeeling itinerary for you to read through. Next on my travels I visited Australia to see some of the Mantra Group properties and Hamilton Island. A favourite spot was Palm Cove – the beautiful golden beach lined with free BBQ stations is the perfect place to relax and unwind and Peppers Beach Club and Spa's lagoon pool is the ideal for a cool down after a trip to the Daintree. One of my Hamilton Island highlights was a Helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef and the amazing reef snorkelling with Fantasea Cruises – if you need a little distraction this afternoon then check out Hamilton Island's new video footage!
